Context
GSK Stockmann, a leading independent European corporate law firm with over 250 professionals across their offices in Germany, Luxembourg and the UK, moved into the Axento building in 2016 and has grown organically ever since. BELVEDERE Architecture was commissioned to develop a customised workspace design for the interior fit-out. Above all, it should reflect the company's appreciation of its employees, as it is a certified Great place to work®. The design created by BELVEDERE according to the client's wishes speaks a clear and aesthetic architectural language. Intelligent planning solutions combine optimum use of space with a cosy feeling of space.
The new interior design offers a wide variety of working and recreational areas that not only enhance the employees' everyday office life, but also reflect the characteristic layout of the building: a square area in the centre building and two slender wings arranged at right angles to it. The resulting long, monotonous corridors were upgraded with illuminated and planted niches and a creative floor design to create a space that can be experienced positively. The single and double offices arranged on both sides have floor-to-ceiling, slim glass elements facing the bright corridor and thus receive light from outside and inside.
The kitchen was realised as a room-within-a-room concept: it is located in a block whose ceiling consists of open wooden slats. It shapes the lounge and gives it a cosy atmosphere - not least thanks to an adjoining counter with high chairs. Further kitchenettes with standing and seating areas invite you to linger on the different floors. The waiting area for guests opposite the main reception and the lounge for employees next to the large kitchen exude an equally pleasant ambience: Visually separated by staggered wooden louvres, they structure the area while still maintaining the transparency of the space. The partially glazed walls of the conference rooms facing the corridor offer a view of changing art exhibitions by local artists.
